As a Strategic Services Analyst with Ithaka S+R, Kirby helps innovative higher education organizations and initiatives address pressing strategic issues and establish sustainable business models. She has worked on a range of consulting engagements related to topics including open source software and the digitization of special collections and archives. She also co-authored the reports Sustaining Digital Resources: An On-the-Ground View of Projects Today (2009), and Current Models of Digital Scholarly Communication (2008). Prior to joining ITHAKA, Kirby contributed to the online strategy for a start-up education advocacy project, and taught humanities courses at the American School of São Paulo, Brazil.  Kirby holds a BA in English from Yale University, and is conversational in Portuguese and Spanish.
