Welcome to Ithaka
Ithaka was launched as a not-for-profit organization on January 2004 with a mission to accelerate the productive uses of information technologies for the benefit of higher education around the world. In pursuit of this aim, Ithaka incubates a small number of new initiatives internally and provides various forms of support to affiliated organizations with complementary missions. Ithaka's incubation and supporting functions are composed of three areas of activities:

Providing administrative and technological services that can be shared by incubated and affiliated entities to increase effectiveness, lower costs and allow these entities to focus on mission related activities SHARED SERVICES |
Conducting research to support the cost recovery goals of the affiliated entities as well as to inform the broader higher education community about the impact of electronic technologies on their activities RESEARCH |
Providing strategic advice and consultation, as well as access to Ithaka's network of relationships in higher education, philanthropy, business and technology to support the development of innovative and sustainable economic models STRATEGIC SERVICES |
