As we continue to move deeper into the “information age,” libraries are finding that an increasingly disintermediated research process challenges a variety of traditional roles.  Change is coming to academic libraries, but it has yet to be transformative. The same cannot be said for the corporate library. Many corporate libraries have been closed, or transformed beyond the point of recognition, while others have found ways to adapt proactively to the changing information environment and remain valuable to their parent company. This session will discuss the themes of change in the corporate environment and their relevance to academic libraries. The example of the corporate library may provide guidance about the types of change which may come in the future, helping academic libraries to proactively transform and maintain their relevance to the intellectual life of their home campus in a rapidly changing information environment.
