Many academic disciplines rely heavily on primary source documents.  But scholars have often been limited by the constraints of space and time in using these resources.  The new digital environment presents exciting opportunities for making primary source resources more accessible and easier to use.  We have undertaken several projects that seek to understand how primary source documents are being used in the academy, and how effective specific projects to harness digital technology for the purpose of improving access to primary source materials are.  These projects include the following:
