Serving the needs of faculty and other end-users
Helping information-services organizations meet the needs of scholars by understanding their changing attitudes and practices
In order to serve the needs of faculty and other end-users, it is critical that libraries, publishers, and other resource-providers understand them. As new services and tools are introduced, often with new expectations, how are faculty attitudes, practices, and needs changing? And how are libraries, instructional technology units, and other direct points of contact with end-users adapting to changing practices and emerging needs? We try to answer these questions using quantitative approaches, such as survey research and citation measurement, as well as qualitative methods such as ethnographic study. We greatly respect that there are important differences by discipline, research area, pedagogical style, institution type, and available digital technologies.
