Director, JSTOR Forum

Deirdre Ryan is the Director of JSTOR Forum where she works with libraries and museums around the world to manage and distribute their digital content across a variety of web-based platforms. She is a tireless leader and collaborator committed to promoting global access to digital material of all types for use in research and teaching.

 

For ten years, Deirdre led the JSTOR teams responsible for developing primary source collections including African Heritage Sites and Landscapes, Auction Catalogs, JSTOR Plant Science, British Pamphlets, and Struggles for Freedom in Southern Africa. In this role, Deirdre worked with teammates across functional units to successfully develop and launch multi-content products, and with hundreds of partner organizations from both the Global South and North.

 

Deirdre proudly began her career in technology and education by working as a new media production associate in 1995 at The Chronicle of Higher Education. Since then her experience has included teaching digital design at Parsons School of Design, working for a start-up publishing company in Dublin, and producing online seminars and related educational resources at Columbia University.
