Megan Marler

Director, Shared Shelf

As the Director of Shared Shelf, Megan oversees the execution of the strategic vision for Shared Shelf, a cloud-based (SaaS) media management platform that supports the management and publishing of large-scale image collections in support of teaching and research activities within higher education, museums and K-12. As a compliment to ITHAKA’s core digital libraries, JSTOR and Artstor, it allows institutions to co-mingle their local primary source content with subscribed e-resources.

Megan also leads a team of implementation managers that work with participating universities, colleges, and museums to configure Shared Shelf, facilitate migration of legacy data, and integrate Shared Shelf with other applications such as federated search engines, authentication systems, and digital repositories.

Previously, Megan performed product and project management, business development, and software systems analysis for various organizations primarily serving the education, finance, and public sectors. She has been an active informational professional for more than 20 years, with a specific focus on the management of digital image collections within cultural heritage.
