To match an expansion of scope in service of ITHAKA’s mission, JSTOR Labs announces it will now be known as ITHAKA Labs. Launched in 2014, the Lab’s team works with foundations, colleges and universities, libraries, and publishers to discover opportunities, design solutions, and incubate and scale services that change people’s lives through learning.
The Labs team is responsible for tools like the JSTOR Understanding Series and Text Analyzer, as well as new products and services like JSTOR Access in Prison and Transfer Explorer. Their incubations have benefited through philanthropic support from funders such as Ascendium Education Group, the Gates Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the ECMC Foundation, and more.
